My name is Jo Blakey and I have worked in Education for 25 years teaching IT, Employability and Enterprise Skills. I have experience working with school age children, young people and adults of all ages and abilities, including working with people with learning difficulties, the long-term unemployed, and employees and employers of local businesses, in a flexible manner to suit the individual learner.
After taking voluntary redundancy from a local college 5 years' ago, I achieved my dream of setting up my own business, Enterprising South, delivering employability and enterprise skills.
My extensive teaching experience, knowledge of business and friendly approach has enabled me to do what I am passionate about - empowering people to start their own business, upskill or gain employment, in a competitive job market.
I love my work as I am motivated by ‘making a difference’ and I work to the best of my ability in a professional manner, with integrity, positivity and enthusiasm.
In my spare time I enjoy cake making and I have set up an on-line business called Countryside Cake Creations making cake toppers and selling them on E-bay. Using this business experience I am able to 'walk the walk' with my students, as I undertand the difficulties associated with running an on-line business, and how to get the best out of social media platforms.
I also enjoy listening to music, going to the cinema and holidaying in Italy.
I have recently started working in partnership with a local training agency, DA Training and Consultancy as their Enterprise Manager marketing and delivering enterprise courses. To find out more about me and what I do, please click on the following links:-
