Why we need ‘Enterprising’ Managers for the Future


The changing public and private sector landscapes need managers who are equipped with mindset and skills to manage change, motivate teams and be creative in problem solving.


An article in the Guardian posted on 31st July 2012 highlighted the importance of embedding enterprise and employability skills including self awareness, understanding motivation, creativity and problem solving in the education system.



Across the public sector, it’s recognised that managers and their staff will need to be better equipped to meet current and future challenges, including the demands of public sector reform and rising consumer expectations, as well as economic and financial changes.”


As the structure of the public sector continues to change, the number of roles requiring leadership and management skills is expected to increase. It’s important to provide the tools and develop the attributes for success from early on in people, in order to foster a productive workforce.
